Portrait & Paper Size Comparison

What is the ideal size for a drawing?
I often get asked about the best size for a portrait. Unfortunately there is no one-size-fits-all answer to the question. The ideal size for your painting will be determined by the number of subjects and the amount of detail. Custom sizes are available on request if you already have a frame that you would like to use or have a specific space you would like to fill on your wall.
The above and below representations should give you an idea about the size difference between the different size options that I offer to clients. Please be advised that an A5 can only accommodate ONE subject successfully. If you feel unsure, I would be happy to advise you on which size would work best for your vision and would accommodate the number of subjects best and quote you accordingly. The more people you want to add to your artwork, the larger your artwork needs to be.

Looking for something small and whimsical?
Consider a Miniature Pet Portrait: they’re tiny, detailed pieces created on small paper sizes, and their charm lies in their scale. These miniature works of art are approx 6x6cm big on a 15x15cm piece of paper.
