WIN A PORTRAIT OF YOUR SOULMATE

2026 Official Competition Rules

Competition period: 23 September to 30 September 2026
Closing time: 23:59 SAST on 30 September2026
Eligibility: South African residents only

1. THE PRIZE

One winner will receive:

• One A5 coloured pencil portrait of one pet
• Professional framing of the portrait
• The portrait will be created by Celia van Niekerk from a suitable reference photograph supplied by the winner.

The prize is not exchangeable for cash, another artwork, or an alternative service.

The portrait is for one pet only. Additional pets or alternative sizes may be commissioned separately at the winner’s own expense.

The reference photograph must meet the artist’s requirements for a suitable portrait. If the submitted photograph is unsuitable, the winner may be asked to provide an alternative photograph.

⏰ Due to The Artists current commission queue, the winner will ONLY RECEIVE THE COMPLETED PORTRAIT IN JAN/FEB 2027.

2. WHO CAN ENTER?

The competition is open to South African residents aged 18 years or older.

Employees or immediate family members of Celia van Niekerk Art are not eligible to enter.

3. HOW TO ENTER

To receive the basic competition entry, participants must:

1. Follow Celia van Niekerk Art on Instagram.
2. Like the official competition post.
3. Comment on the competition post with a photograph of their pet and the pet’s name.

Only genuine, valid entries will be counted.

4. ADDITIONAL ENTRIES

Participants can increase their chances of being selected by genuinely interacting with Celia van Niekerk Art’s Instagram content during the competition period.

Additional entries are allocated as follows:

• 1 additional entry for liking a new eligible post published during the competition.
• 1 additional entry for leaving a genuine, relevant comment on a new eligible post.
• 1 additional entry for tagging a fellow pet lover in the official competition post.
• 2 additional entries for sharing the official competition post to their Instagram Story and tagging Celia van Niekerk Art.
• 2 additional entries for subscribing to the Newsletter via www.celiavanniekerk.co.za

Multiple genuine friend tags may be counted, provided they are genuine individuals and are not spam or duplicate accounts.

Participants may not use automated services, fake accounts, bots, or spam activity to generate entries.

Celia van Niekerk Art reserves the right to disqualify entries that appear fraudulent, automated, duplicated, abusive, or otherwise inconsistent with these rules.

5. WINNER SELECTION

The winner will be selected by random draw from all valid entries received during the competition period.

Each valid additional entry gives the participant an additional chance of being selected.

The draw will take place after the competition closes.

The winner will be contacted via Instagram Direct Message and announced on Celia van Niekerk Art’s Instagram page.

If the selected winner does not respond within 72 hours, or does not meet the eligibility requirements, a new winner may be selected.

6. REFERENCE PHOTOGRAPH

The winner must provide a suitable, high-resolution photograph of the pet for the portrait.

The artist reserves the right to determine whether a photograph is suitable for creating the portrait.

The winning portrait will be created in the artist’s established coloured pencil style. The artist’s artistic interpretation and creative decisions remain at the artist’s discretion.

Winners must permit their pet’s photo and artwork to be shared on my social media pages/websites.

7. DELIVERY

The prize includes professional framing.

Delivery via Pudo arrangements will be confirmed with the winner. Any costs not specifically stated as included in the prize, including additional delivery requirements or changes requested by the winner, will be the responsibility of the winner.

8. COPYRIGHT

The completed artwork remains the intellectual property and copyright of Celia van Niekerk.

The winner receives the physical artwork but does not receive copyright or reproduction rights.

Celia van Niekerk reserves the right to photograph and share the completed artwork for portfolio, website and social media purposes.

9. INSTAGRAM DISCLAIMER

This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram/Facebook/Meta. Those who enter release Instagram and all brands of all responsibility or liability relating to the competition and agree to Instagram’s terms of use.

10. GENERAL

Celia van Niekerk reserves the right to verify entries and disqualify any participant who does not comply with these competition rules.

Participation in the competition constitutes acceptance of these rules.

The organiser’s decision regarding the validity of entries and the selection of the winner is final, subject to applicable law.
